Setting Up your wireless network

Need to setup your wireless network in Ubuntu(or Kubuntu, or Xubuntu or Edubuntu)? It’s quite difficult but you can find a lot of help here: https://help.ubuntu.com/community/WifiDocs/Driver/Ndiswrapper A neat trick is this, If you have a broadcom card you might need to swap a few files. For instance, I had to copy /etc/ndiswrapper/bcmwl5a/bcmwl5a.inf to /etc/ndiswrapper/bcmwl5/bcmwl5.inf (or maybe it was the .sys files, i don’t remember)

Also downloading ‘wifi-radar’ in adept or synaptic should help too.
